There are plenty of initiatives trying to get kids involved in science, but the Dana Centre, an extension of the Science Museum, is the first one we've heard of whose sole purpose is to get adults involved in scientific debate. On a number of evenings each week the doors of the Dana Centre open for a wide range of events designed to spark your interest in science, technology and culture. These take diverse forms, from more traditional talks and fiery debates, to less conventional events such as stand-up comedy, multimedia experiences and interactive experiments. Most of the events are free but it's a good idea to phone ahead and reserve tickets. In addition to the 150-seat auditorium there's a pleasant little cafe-bar which makes a great spot for a cheap bite to eat, or to discuss what you've seen over a coffee or a beer. Sometimes you wish you were back at school learning new things every day and discussing them. Well, the Dana Centre gives grown-ups a chance to do just that.
