The remnants of its former use as an old industrial area are still visible on Vyner Street. But, in recent years, it has become a hotbed of creative activity with artists' studios and galleries taking over the street, Vyner Street Gallery among them. The influx of such artistic influence brightens the area considerably - especially when the galleries open their doors late into the night (often enticing arty types with free beer).
