This unique Clerkenwell shop promotes organic, local and seasonal food - but with an environmental twist: none of the wares are packaged. Shoppers must bring their own containers - be it bags, boxes, bottles - and reuse them each time they shop. This practice not only cuts down on unnecessary packaging (which usually finds its way to landfill sites) but also encourages shoppers to buy just the amount of produce that they need, whereby saving them money and cutting down on food waste. Unpackaged has an extensive range of wares, including dry goods, spices, wines, beers, fruit and vegetables, olive oil, dairy products and household goods. Championed by the Observer Food Monthly, Time Out and The Guardian, Unpackaged has also won an Ethical Award from The Observer in 2008.
