The Knightsbrige branch of Space NK in Hans Crescent, right next to Harrods,
is especially appealing - not only does it sell desirable toiletries, chic cosmetics and niche perfumes but it also has a spa. Hmm. One of only two Space NK stores to have a Spa.NK, the basement treatment rooms underneath this Hans Crescent branch are an excellent place to escape the stresses of the city. Dimmed lights, muted colours and candle-lit rooms set the calming tone. In the shop above stylish must-have toiletries, cosmetics, lip balms, camouflages and powders, as worn by those in the know, are all displayed on the clinically clean shelves. Exclusive, hard-to-find brands like Eve Lom, Nars, Philip B. Laura Mercier, Shu Uemura and many more are all under conveniently found under one roof, displayed against a brightly lit white backdrop. Staff really know their ointments and lotions and are always happy to help with make-up demos and skincare samples; it's as if they genuinely love their jobs. Playing with make-up all day, who wouldn't? It makes buying cosmetics an indulgent treat which, at these prices, it should be.
