Located in the heart of Knightsbridge, the Capital Restaurant has attracted gourmets for over 35 years and has a reputation as one of the UK's top kitchens. Former head chef Eric Chavot has moved on but his replacement, the award-winning Jerome Ponchelle, looks set to ensure that the Capital's legacy of impeccable cooking endures. Ponchelle's new menus have a distinct French influence and include his own specialities of game and seafood dishes such as lobster, crab and truffle omelette and braised filet of wild Scottish turbot with a champagne sauce. More traditional English comfort food such as braised oxtail will also feature. A carvery is available for three courses for lunch on Friday (Salmon Coulibiac), Saturday (roast lamb) and Sunday (roast beef). Booking essential on weekends. The Capital Restaurant images
