Owner of the New China Club, James Jian Wang, presents an interesting concept, describing itself as a restaurant, tea house and art gallery with Snazz Sichuan as the highly rated Sichuanese restaurant. Ordering from the 15-page menu can appear daunting at first - especially as the hotpot menu is not translated into English - but the friendly staff are happy to help. With rich, hot, garlic and spice flavours and odd sounding cuts of meat - from duck tongue to pig's tail in bow - this is the place to be adventurous. If you prefer beans on toast you're not going to like it here. Dried chillies float over the oil covering most dishes and infuse them with that distinctive kick. It's certainly something a bit different and that's what you should come here expecting.
