Presided over by the outrageous, extravagant artist Michael Charalambous, Nyumba is not so much a unisex salon as a place of rest and relaxation, boasting some of the best stylists in London (headhunted from MichaelJohn and other top-of-the-line salons), facilities for tanning, skin and nail treatments and even minor plastic surgery. The place has been beautifully decorated and boasts its own coffee and juice bar - it's easy to see why customers enjoy a visit here, and often arrive early just to chat.
Nyumba is among the most expensive, but also the best, salons in Europe. Regular customers include Nancy Dell'Olio, Jemima Khan, Tamara Mellon, Sophie Anderton, Trudi Styler, Saffron Aldridge, Kirsty Young and a host of other famous names from the worlds of sport, fashion and music. An appointment here is beyond most people's dreams, but if you can affford it there's no better way to pamper yourself.
