Nearby Soho Theatre

The Soho Theatre Company was formed in 1969 by Verity Bargate and Fred Proud, but it didn't have a permanent home until 2000, when its current Dean Street location opened. This modern space was the first theatre to be built with National Lottery money. The program covers a wide mix of drama, comedy, and experimental work. It is also home to the Soho Theatre Writers' Centre, which develops new writing talent. Notable productions have included Tariq Ali's murder mystery The Illustrious Corpse and Toby Young's How to Lose Friends and Alienate People. There is also plenty of stand-up comedy here, with past performances from Mark Thomas, Jerry Sadowitz, and Jimmy Carr. On site, there's the Soho Theatre Bar and the basement level Lazeez @ Soho restaurant.Soho Theatre events
