Famous for its famous owner, the Punch Bowl became a celebrity hang-out when Guy Ritchie split up with Madonna. The director of 'Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels' could often be seen thoroughly enjoying his own lock-ins in the weeks after the separation. Justin Timberlake, Leonardo di Caprio, Mickey Rourke and Robert Downey Jr are just some of the high profile clientelle who've frequented the Punch Bowl. This does result in a certain level of drinkers coming here in search of celebrities and, if you're into that kind of thing, you may well get lucky. Such is the popularity of the place, the local authorities are always threatening to have the Punch Bowl closed down on the grounds of acute noise polution. Rubbernecking aside, this small pub tucked away down a hard-to-find Mayfair side street has all the charm of an old fashioned boozer. It now runs weekly 'Thank Krug It's Friday' events where customers can enjoy half a bottle of Krug Grande Cuvee with two gourmet fish and chip meals for £75.
