Every Saturday morning at 11am guests can take an hour-long tour of the Sir John Soane Museum, the former home of one of England's greatest architects. Tickets for the Saturday tour are available from 10.30am onwards and they do not take bookings for the tour or for Saturday visits. In addition to the weekly tour, a special candlelit evening opening takes place on the first Tuesday of each
month from 6pm to 9pm. Again, there is no advance booking and the queue generally builds up from around 5pm. Long queues form well before 6pm so
we suggest coming as early as possible to avoid disappointment. The first 60 people are admitted, then it's a one in one out system
for the rest of the evening. Tours are not provided for the Tuesday evenings. Average visiting time is
about an hour or so. All groups must book in advance.
NOTE: No. 12 Lincoln's Inn Fields, including the Breakfast Room and Soane Gallery, are closed for restoration. No. 12 reopens in summer 2012 when the first phase of Opening up the Soane is complete.
